German based transport financier Doric have agreed a huge memorandum of understanding to buy a number of Airbus A380 aircraft worth $8.1 billion.
It's an early win for the European maker at the Paris Airshow - and it also puts pressure on rivals Boeing to come up with the goods...especially after disappointing early results and niggles with their Boeing 787.
Some say the timing is excellent by Airbus, at the A350 looks also to be in strong position and is marketed as a direct competitor to the latest Boeing.
More Paris updates through the week as it happens. It is supposedly the 'biggest ever' airshow to date - boosting increased confidence in the aviation market over recent months.
