Flybe Selling Gatwick Slots? UK Aviation News

There has been talks, according to BBC Online, that Flybe are selling their Gatwick slots in the near future to boost cash flow and share price.

The sale is expected to be worth around £20 million, with Easyjet expected to be one of the main airlines in contention to buy up the surpless. The news follows reports that the airline are cutting up to 10% of its jobs in the coming months, in addition to pilots taking a voluntary 5% paycut to avoid losing their jobs.

Flybe are expected to post another year of losses, and although the future is uncertain for the airline, these latest developments are expected to raise £35 million in revenue.
